Emily L. Williams is a Postdoctoral Scientist with the Climatology Lab at the University of California Merced. Her research is focused on climate change, drought, and fire, including quantifying the impact of climate change on drought and water resources in the Western US. Her work involves the detection and attribution of climate change on drought-related impacts, extending traditional attribution methodologies to include source and impact attribution, and research on how climate science may be used in efforts to pursue accountability for disproportionate contributions to and impacts of climate change. She received her PhD in Geography from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022, with dual emphases in Climate Sciences and Climate Change and Environment and Society.
